Joseph Kessel, Larger Than Life

One hour is certainly too short to present one of the most fascinating characters of the twentieth century. Joseph Kessel was born in 1898, and live life to its fullest. Pilot during WWI and WWII, reporter nicknamed "l'Empereur" by his fellow journalist, successful writer, he traveled the world in seek of the thrill of adventure. His most famous novel, "The Lion" sold more than 5 million copies, and was translated in 23 languages. Fourteen of his books were made into films. Of Russian origin, Jewish of colossal stature, he received the visa numbered 001 from the newborn state of Israel. Travel with Kessel to legendary places, from Vladivostok to Yemen, to Amboseli, Kenya and meet wild animals and even wilder human beings.
