Beaujolais Nouveau
Le Beaujolais Nouveau is a French tradition, easy to remember since it is always the Thursday before Thanksgiving. Kind of preseason for Holidays. The tasting will focus on wines from the Beaujolais region. A wine expert will present the wines, and the specificities of the vineyard of Beaujolais. Wine lovers, this is your day!
The wine format is going to feature a small pour of tasting of the Beaujolais Nouveau for everyone. And then, there will be 4 wines---2 whites (a lighter style and a heavier one) and 2 reds (also a lighter style and a heavier one). People can choose 2 of the 4---so, a couple, for example, might pick the two different choices of white and red so they have the full range to compare---and the pours are 4-5 ounces each. Additional wine will be available for purchase.
The homemade buffet features chicken liver paté, gougères (savory puff pastries), mini brie & raspberry tarts, mini croque-monsieur, chicken dijon, tian gratin and mushroom tarts. On the sweet side: canelés, palmiers and financiers.
